Some of the staff at RLB put on their hard hats and pitched in to help build a home for a local family with Habitat for Humanity. This year Habitat for Humanity is endeavoring to build 2 homes in Guelph and our staff were excited to help. They are building a raised bungalow at 18 Harris Street and another raised bungalow at 24 Alma Street.
They helped hang doors, curtain rods, painting, and anything else the Habitat crew needed help with. They learned a lot and had a great time. We would like to thank our staff for their continued community efforts.
Established in 2000, the Wellington chapter has already built 9 homes in Wellington County: four in Rockwood, two in Elora, and one each in Fergus and Mount Forest, and one in Guelph. Though high land costs often present difficulties, the non-profit organization is continually searching for opportunities to build decent and affordable homes for local low-income families.
