Coldest Night of the Year

What a fun event – walking, raising awareness and support for Hope House, while spending time with co-workers, friends, and family.  The Guelph walk started from downtown and had the RLB team and other teams/walkers trekking up and down the Eramosa Road hills all the way up to Victoria Road.  It was a very mild night and definitely did not do the “Coldest Night” name justice. Deserving walkers were served a delicious meal served at Lakeside Hope House which consisted of chilli, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies.

The RLB Team consisted of Christie Barry (Team Captain), David Moller, Brooke Billings, Terri Barber and son, Louise Frost, Alexander V. DiLello, Amanda Farrell, Erin McQuay, Jennifer MacDonald and daughter, and Shelagh Balfoort and family.  RLB helped raise $1,277 to support Lakeside Hope House!  Gord Barr, who is a Partner at RLB and sits on the Board of Directors for Hope House, was a top fundraiser for his team “Cold Feet Warm Hearts” with a grand total of $12,245.

About Lakeside Hope House

Lakeside Hope House operates and advocates on the belief that poverty, food insecurity, inequality, health and community are all interconnected. They offer services and programs that challenge the stigmas surrounding poverty and allow our clients to maintain their dignity and choice, while simultaneously providing them with tactile skills developed in a community environment; it is not about a hand-out but rather offering people a hand-up, creating long-term skills that facilitate self-sufficiency.
