Cindy Fenwick
Cindy Fenwick is one of the pioneers of the Wellness initiative at RLB and is also a co-chair for our Wellness Team. This team is dedicated to bringing an awareness of healthy lifestyle issues to RLB employees and to managing the challenges of balancing work and personal lives in positive ways. Cindy has had a flexible working arrangement for the last 13 years which includes taking the summers off. She ensures excellent client service is not sacrificed with help from great team members. The focus on wellness by the firm has obvious personal benefits but these extend to our clients as well. Attracting and retaining talented staff is enhanced by the wellness initiative resulting in reduced recruitment and training costs - savings that can be passed on to our clients. In addition, continuity on client engagements is better ensured through staff retention.
Owner managed businesses are Cindy’s prime area of focus. Whether fielding client questions on day to day issues or pulling together year end financial statements and tax returns, Cindy aims for timeliness and cost effectiveness. Dealing with Canada Revenue Agency on behalf of clients can help ease anxiety and allow clients to do the work that they do best.
RLB employs several students working toward their professional designations and Cindy enjoys providing both formal and informal training to help them reach that goal.
Cindy says “It is a truly rewarding experience to be part of a team that contributes positively to the journey of these young adults towards becoming chartered accountants.”
The accounting profession has seen a marked increase of women in its numbers in the past several years. Cindy has had a long standing interest in developing women in leadership roles and is active in developing a community of professional women in the firm.
