Shawn Deyell, CA, BBA, BMath

A mathematics enthusiast from an early age, Shawn was drawn to the accounting profession as an opportunity to apply technical knowledge to achieve practical, real-world solutions.  His prestigious double-degree (BBA, BMath) education effectively equipped him for this career by pairing comprehensive business understanding with the intricacies of tax accounting.  Shawn appreciates the formative learning experiences and personal development he receives at RLB, where he hopes to continue being challenged through new and rewarding projects.

Shawn values being part of a full-service accounting firm that shares his passion for client success.  He specializes in providing full tax solutions to help meet the unique goals of business owner-managers and their families, including their personal, corporate, trust and estate planning.  A highlight for Shawn has been personal contact with clients, allowing him to put a face to the file and gain a deeper appreciation for what truly drives the client.  He chose to enter the tax group where he relishes in delivering valuable and quantifiable results.  Shawn completed the CICA In-Depth Taxation course in 2010 and is pursuing additional tax specialization in an effort to further his and RLB’s role in exceeding client expectations. 

Shawn lives in Guelph with his wife and son.  Family adventures fill his spare time, including camping, hiking, sports, and attending independent music concerts.  Shawn’s love of numbers extends to his vast knowledge of sports statistics and trivia.  He especially enjoys reading to his young son, both tax-related and non-tax-related bedtime stories.
