Gord Barr, CA
Gord believes in going the extra mile for his clients, and he doesn’t wait to be asked. As soon as he encounters a strategy that could benefit one of his clients, Gord takes the initiative to share that insight and explore ways it could add value to the client’s business.
“My style is to get involved and be proactive to help clients resolve issues facing their business or personal finances. I help owners focus on where they should be spending their time to make the business more profitable and successful.”
From owner-managed businesses to nonprofits to complex corporate groups, Gord’s clients rely on him for the practical perspective he brings to their challenges. He is particularly attuned to opportunities to improve clients’ profitability and cash flow, whether through new policies to improve collections, a better inventory-control method or a new source of financing. Gord always makes sure to see if there are any tax minimization strategies that his clients will benefit from.
Drawing on his education and experience in the agriculture industry, Gord understands the risks and pressures involved in agribusiness, yet he is equally at ease developing corporate reporting strategies for some of Ontario’s largest privately-owned companies. Gord’s clients appreciate his approachable, down-to-earth style of delivering creative, insightful strategies to enhance their success.
An avid runner, Gord has completed two marathons and four half marathons. He enjoys sports of all types. He was a high school soccer coach for 10 years and served as co-chair of the Ontario Winter Games and finance chair of the Ontario Summer Games. Currently, Gord serves on the finance committee at his church and participates on the capital campaign committee for his daughter’s school.
