I became an accountant because I want to help people attain their goals both personally and financially.  Accounting has given me the skills to assess, plan and implement strategies to assist our clients in being successful.

As a tax accountant, one might think of a stereotypical quiet and pocket protected individual.  I am neither of these things.  I am outgoing and inquisitive by nature.  I take joy in engaging people in conversation which puts clients at ease. 

I’ve recently transitioned to RLB’s tax department.  It is exciting to jump into a whole new world of knowledge and information. When I meet with a client to review their tax strategies, I always ensure the information is presented in a clear and concise manner, and that the message does not get lost in technical jargon.  My goal is to bridge the gap between a client’s needs and the Income Tax Act, and dispel the belief that tax is an impregnable fortress.  There are positive tax strategies available and I want to be able to empower and teach them to our clients.

My long term goal is to complete the 3 year in-depth tax training course, to become more knowledgeable for our clients, and to gain enough experience both professionally and personally to allow me to obtain and service my own client group in the future.

At RLB, we work as a team to deliver products and services that clients can rely on.  Our diverse client base allows me to get exposure to various industries and to be constantly challenged.  I know that each and every experience and assignment helps me grow as a professional accountant.  I look forward to coming to work because at RLB there is never a boring day!

Outside of work I enjoy playing both electric and acoustic guitar (rock and classic rock), hiking in the beautiful natural surroundings available in Guelph, hockey in the winters and beach volleyball in the summers.  Anything to keep myself busy.
