Tara Walsh

Administrative Assistant

What are you surprisingly good at?

I am highly professional in all that I do. I am good at developing processes to help the administration team work more efficiently at RLB.

Personally, I am a runner. I used to hate it, but I can now run more than 10K in less than 60 minutes and am continually working to better my time.

What are you most passionate about?

I love being outdoors! Traveling and exploring new places gets me excited. Living a healthy, active lifestyle is also important to me, as well as using as many all-natural products as possible (including making many myself!). I love doing yoga, preparing healthy meals, daily exercise, and spending lots of time with my senior dog, Tyson. Overall, I just want to enjoy life to its fullest!

I also find passion in helping to develop RLB and move it forward by implementing new processes and improving efficiencies.

What’s important inside your community? Are you part of any organizations?

Animal rescue and rehabilitation is extremely important to me. The thought that there are millions of animals given away or without homes is very saddening to me… I believe animals should have a loving, caring, safe and permanent home, and would recommend animal adoption for anyone looking to own a pet.

What do you feel have been the most important successes in your life?

I am super adventurous! I successfully backpacked around the United Kingdom all on my own. This was an amazing journey for me. I made a lot of new friends along the way and would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves traveling!

Another important success in my life is attaining a Master’s Degree in Animal Behavior and Welfare. Pursuing this was a great learning experience, and actually helped to redefine my career goals.

If you could be a superhero or have a superpower, what would it be?

I’d love to be able to fly so then traveling would be so much easier!

Anything else you’d like to share?

I share my home with a 60lb American Bulldog mix named Tyson and a Sinacorn (a type of snake) named Georgia. I did mention that I love animals, right?
