I keep up-to-date with the latest technology releases and I can build a pretty mean PC. While in university I was a world ranked World of Warcraft player. Although now that I think about it, neither of these things may be that surprising.
Work-life balance. I am so thankful for flex hours and to RLB for introducing it to me! RLB gives our team plenty of opportunities to take time off throughout the year, and especially in the summer when we take every Friday off (although I’ll admit, it’s hard to transition back to a 5 day work week in September).
I’m not currently involved in anything, but I would really like to be in the future! I don’t feel that well rooted in Guelph yet since I just moved here in 2016. I’ve been spending most of my time working and trying to see my girlfriend as much as possible. Going forward I’d like to definitely put down some roots and try to get involved. Guelph is a great city and southern Ontario is a great place to be!
I had a lot of trouble early on determining what I wanted to do, academically and for a career. I struggled to find the direction that I wanted my life to take. I started in sciences, network engineering, then finally arrived at accounting. For me the biggest milestone was completing my commerce degree and finishing the CPA designation. I’m really happy the CFE dreams are over.
Manipulate time. The biggest constraint we have in business and in life is not having quite enough time to do everything that we want to do. We would be able to accomplish so much more in a day if we could manipulate time… but of course not manipulate my time sheet!
I enjoy traveling, skiing, paintballing, and spreadsheets.
