Jeff’s role at RLB is both unique and specialized. He focuses on Canada/US cross-border personal and corporate tax planning and compliance. Cross-border tax rules become very complicated very quickly. Jeff is most passionate about assisting those with cross-border tax issues in understanding how these cross-border tax rules affect them and how to best manage the risk of double taxation.
Jeff studied at Brock University, but the majority of his career-related education came after graduation. He obtained both his Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant and US Certified Public Accountant designations after post-secondary. His US Certified Public Accountant designation is especially important to be able to service clients with US tax issues.
Outside of work, Jeff spends time with his wife and two kids. They prioritize staying active as much as they can, including recreational sports, boating, camping, and hiking. Jeff enjoys cooking, and the occasional craft beer, and likes to travel as much as he can. Lately, their family has been exploring Canada and the US but has also travelled overseas and hopes to continue travelling and exploring different countries and cultures.
Jeff was born and raised in Guelph, and after working with a few other national firms, he eventually made his way back to a community he is happy to be a part of.
