Kimberly Aitken

Senior Manager

What are you surprisingly good at?

Construction! I focus on working with profit-oriented businesses, mainly in the construction industry from homebuilders to general contractors and trades. As the daughter of an electrician and entrepreneur, and having worked at Rona Cashway in Milton throughout high school and college, I have a lot of experience working with those in the construction industry. I’m excited to bridge my previous knowledge with my accounting career as part of RLB’s construction team! My construction focus allows me to concentrate on what matters for clients in the construction industry to best meet their specific needs.

What are you most passionate about?

I love seeing my clients and co-workers succeed. I truly admire the hard work and dedication that my clients put into their businesses and endeavor to be there to provide any support they need along the way. Seeing my clients’ businesses grow and succeed is the ultimate reward. I also enjoy being able to support the growth and development of the upcoming talent at RLB. We have an amazing team and focus on building a continuous supply of future leaders. I want to do my part by sharing my experiences and knowledge with younger staff. I am also an avid reader, love to spend time at my family cottage and a proud Auntie to my niece, Sydney. My family is very close and get up to some crazy things like our annual polka dot day that started when my niece was very young.

What’s important inside your community? Are you part of any organizations?

I have been the Treasurer of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce since October 2013. I enjoy being part of an organization that is focused on businesses and community organizations of all sizes. As part of the construction team at RLB, I am also a member of several construction associations and write a few articles each year for the GVCA (Grand Valley Construction Association) Journal.

What do you feel have been the most important successes in your life?

I feel that my education has been one of my biggest successes. After discovering my aptitude and love for accounting, I, with guidance from my mentors, decided to pursue an accounting designation. I attended the University of Waterloo where I obtained my Bachelor degree as well as my Master of Accounting degree, for which I earned a full scholarship. I credit the success I have had at RLB to date to the amazing mentors I have had throughout my career.
