About

As an accountant working with owner-managed businesses, Melanie enjoys working with clients and learning about different industries. Understanding the business owner’s concerns and being able to assist on the financial side of things is a very satisfying experience for her. In high school, Melanie enjoyed her Grade 11 accounting course and afterwards, she completed both high school and university co-op programs at an accounting firm, which is where she says she found her path.

The love of numbers led her to Brock University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting Honors degree (BAcc) and then obtained her CPA, CA designation.

At home, she spends time with her husband and their two younger boys, who keep them fairly busy (with sports, biking and mini-golf). Spending time with family and friends, including going for a hike or going to the beach, are always highlights for Melanie. She’s also known to enjoy some downtime reading crime or mystery novels, a jigsaw puzzle or catching up on a TV series.

In her off-time, she is the Treasurer for the Georgetown Lions Club and enjoys giving back to her community. Through the Lions Club, she has volunteered at the Head for the Hills Craft Beer Festival (a successful fundraising event run by service clubs).
