After nearly 4 decades in public accounting, it is with tremendous respect and gratitude that we announce the impending transition of Bruce Robinson from partner to associate as a preliminary stage of his retirement.
Bruce joined the RLB team in 1984, before becoming a partner in 1993. Throughout his accomplished career, Bruce dedicated his time to developing the careers of many team members in addition to building lasting relationships with his clients. In his time here, Bruce led several departments and teams including the assurance team and was connected to the HR department- a perfect fit for this natural-born people person.
Always the professional, Bruce cares deeply about exceeding his clients’ needs and educating them about their options. Within our organization, Bruce is known for not taking himself too seriously. He is approachable and has a quick wit. The team will often spot Bruce at the coffee station toting his shark-shaped mug. A replica of “Bruce” the cartoon shark from Finding Nemo. A true testament to his affability.
Bruce’s natural ability to connect with others served him well as he worked with a variety of clients in industries as diverse as agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing and not-for-profit. His personal connection to agriculture grew from his connection to the Robinson family farm, located just 100 miles north of Guelph. A place that is still in the family to this day.
Always passionate about giving back to the community that gave him so much, Bruce and his wife Betty have supported various charities and causes within the Royal City.
Bruce intends to ease into retirement over the next few years. In his retirement, Bruce is looking forward to spending more time with his family. He and Betty intend to enjoy their next phase in life and to keep up with their board work and various pursuits. Bruce has always been active in various summer and winter sports and will continue to do so in his retirement. We thank Bruce for his dedication to our organization, our team and our community over the years. We hope you enjoy your well-deserved retirement!
