DEREK STOLTZ JOINS RLB AS PRINCIPAL
RLB is excited to bring Derek and his extensive expertise to the firm.
Guelph, Ontario – July 4th, 2023 – RLB Chartered Professional Accountants announced today that Derek Stoltz, former partner of Calibre LLP Chartered Professional Accountants has joined the firm effective July 1st. Derek brings with him in-depth knowledge and experience with owner-managed businesses, tax advisory and a specialty in rental and real estate accounting and advisory services.

RLB’s commitment to supporting our communities and local Not-for-Profits is one of the reasons Derek was attracted to the firm in the first place. “RLB has a great rapport within the city, and having played hockey with (former partner) Gord Barr, I obviously have heard the great things RLB is doing behind the scenes too,” Derek shares. “So that started to have some sway. I have clients who have worked with RLB and their team for years, so once the conversations started, it was an easy decision to make the move.”
Derek has been a part of the Guelph business landscape since 2002. After attending both Wilfred Laurier and McMaster University, Derek graduated with honours and began building his practice. In his time as a CPA, CA, Derek has been a partner at two firms, most recently Calibre LLP Chartered Professional Accountants. The move to a larger firm felt like the right timing and the positive corporate culture and emphasis on “People Count” that RLB has cultivated felt very attractive to him.
In his career, Derek has had experience in a variety of industries and worked in many different-sized businesses. He now specializes in helping owner-managed businesses find success, with a key interest in tax and the rental and real estate sectors.
Outside of client work, Derek is looking forward to the work-life integration RLB offers. Derek and his spouse Lindsay stay busy running an alpaca farm with 15 alpacas, 4 of whom are currently expecting. With two teenage daughters that are both active in rugby and musical theatre, a farm, and Lindsay’s small animal veterinary practice, making time for his family is a priority for Derek.
