It’s safe to say that most of us have received hospital care at some point in our lifetime. Whether it’s the moment we are brought into this world, treating injuries, or receiving lifesaving care, we have witnessed firsthand the vital role our healthcare providers play in our communities. Our publically funded healthcare system supports our hospital’s infrastructure and human resources. However, new patient care equipment must be funded through community support. The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital works closely with generous donors to ensure that Guelph General Hospital has the necessary equipment to support the needs of our growing community. Their mission statement is simple; Transforming healthcare through giving.

RLB WINS CLEARLYRATED’S 2021 BEST OF ACCOUNTING AWARD FOR SERVICE EXCELLENCE 

Fergus, ON | August 10 – RLB Chartered Professional Accountants (RLB) is honoured to receive the Business of the Year award at the 2020 Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce’s Awards of Excellence. The drive-in style event allowed for a socially-distanced celebration of local businesses and individuals in the Centre Wellington community.

Community and connection is what drives people to reach their dreams. Monetary and in kind contributions from individuals, families and businesses from in and around Guelph directly impact our ability to provide a safe space for those experiencing poverty. This incredibly important community support enables us to facilitate a vast variety of programs that promote healthy living, independence, and create a welcoming space so that members of our community may find in HOPE House a place to dream.

Many charities and not-for-profit organizations (NPO) face the choice of which legal structure to use, whether they are constituted as a trust, an unincorporated association, or a corporation. When hearing the word “corporation”, many people think of for-profit businesses, but did you know that corporations can also be in the form of non-share capital corporations (NSCC), which are used for not-for-profit organizations and registered charities?

For nearly two decades, KidsAbility has provided life-changing therapy and support services to children and youth with special needs in Guelph. With referrals to our programs increasing year after year, we realized that we didn’t have enough space in our existing facilities to meet the demand from local families. As a result, we decided to create a new Guelph Hub to provide all of our services under one roof.

With 2018 here, many people may have made it their new year’s resolution to donate to charities and not-for-profit organizations (NPO) for the very first time. How exciting – people want to choose your cause to donate towards! This means the donor recognizes your organization to be effective in trying to achieve its mission, and has been given the feeling that he/she is part of an important cause. Although this is all very exciting, it is important to make lasting impressions with first-time donors so that they will want to give back again.
