Executive Summary On Nov. 3, 2022, Canada’s Minister of Finance, Chrystia Freeland, released Canada’s Fall Economic Statement; the government’s first update in the wake of high inflation, increasing interest rates and economic uncertainty. The 2022 Fall Economic Statement introduces several new tax measures and affirms the government’s intention to proceed with previously announced tax measures, although the implementation date of some key measures is being delayed (trust reporting rules, mandatory disclosure rules and excessive interest and financing expense limitation rules).

Employers with 25 or more employees as of January 1st of any year must have a written policy on electronic monitoring in place no later than March 1st of that same year. This new requirement for a written policy requires employers to be transparent by providing employees with certain information about any electronic monitoring in place. It is important to note that it does not establish a right for employees not to be electronically monitored by their employer, nor does it create any new privacy rights for employees.

I change my password on a quarterly basis, I don’t stay logged into my social media accounts on multiple devices, and I would never open any attachments that look questionable.

World Password Day was established back in 2013 as a way to really highlight how vital a strong password is. An effective password will keep private information safe and prevents others from accessing multiple accounts if one is compromised. While many people have not yet been victims of any password security threats, 4 out of 10 people have had their data compromised. Not only is this a headache to resolve but can also lead to security breaches within organizations and often leaves individuals feeling both vulnerable and violated.
